"The Phantom 3 4K is a new addition to the DJI line, which features 2.4GHz WiFi instead of Lightbridge like the Phantom 3 Professional. This means that range has been cut down from a max of a few miles with Lightbridge to only 3900'. How much difference this will be in practice remains to be seen, but certainly WiFi has its share of issues, and any drone's range is cut down once you no longer have line of sight. The other advantage of Lightbridge is an HD preview, which is now limited to 480p on the WiFi-only version.

You will be saving some money because of this change, however. The new Phantom 3 4K is just $1,000, $200 less than the Phantom 3 Professional which runs for $1,200."
